We're so proud of Tyler for winning the Grand Prize (a Kindle Fire HD) in the Walker's Grove Spelling Challenge. She won by spelling all the words correctly AND raising more money than all other kids with perfect scores. What made it even more special was that we had a family spelling challenge outside of school. Aunts Kelly, Kim, Dawn, Grandma and Grandpa all sponsored Tyler very generously, but the challenge they made was that she had to learn and spell a list of very challenging words (the school words were not challenging for Ty.) So, she studied and studied. The agreement was that they would give her the sponsored money if she learned the "special list" by the date of the school test. So, not only did she ace the school test, but also aced the special list of words. So, Tyler coming in first place was doubly special; she demonstrated great determination to succeed, and was reminded how incredibly supportive her family is.
