The Tradition Continues

Auntie Kim, Tyler and I had a fantastic day on our annual trip to Macy's on State Street! Unfortunately, Auntie Dawn was sick and missed the day of traditions, but we kept her updated throughout the day with pictures so hopefully she felt like she was there:)  We had a meaningful visit with Santa, perused the toy, ornament and china departments, wrote a letter to Santa, and of course, had lunch under the tree at the Walnut Room.  The windows were better this year than they've been in years. This year's theme, The Magic of Christmas, had us in nostalgic mode as the decor took us on a sentimental tour, going through the history of the iconic Marshall Field's traditions from the past. Pretty fantastic to see the original Uncle Mistletoe  prominently displayed in one of the festive windows rather than in a display box as he's been the past several years. We finished the day as we always do, enjoying Mrs. Field's cookies accompanied by a hot Latte (and hot chocolate for Ty) at Starbucks. Nothing says Christmas like a day on State Street, enjoying the hustle and bustle of countless families creating memories and celebrating the season!
