Slow and Steady

Tyler did very well this weekend. Her feedings increased according to plan and as of Sunday at noon she is up to 45cc (this is 1.5 ounces). Over night Tyler had a hard time finishing all of her formula within the alotted 25 minute time frame. So, they decided to insert an NG tube (small pipette through the nose) and then they just feed her the remainder of her bottles through this tube. Jill and I were able to get Ty to finish her entire 45cc bottle at noon. It took about 35 minutes, but I think the coaxing and determination of her parents made all the difference. We're going to request that the nurses just spend the extra time with her and maybe then they can take that NG tube out, I don't think she needs it.

Her next chest x-ray is scheduled for Monday morning. So far, so good.

Other news - They've moved Ty to a normal crib!

Here is another picture of Grams (aka Eno) with her great granddaughter. Some say Ty has red highlights. If so, she probably got it from Grams!

Pull out the feeding tube, Ty. You don't need that old thing!
