L8R Ventilator!! Hello my beautiful lips!
Yes, that is right people, yesterday afternoon I said, “L8R to my ventilator”. The first time the docs tried to take it out, my throat was a little swollen and sore, so they rubbed some medicine on it and as of yesterday afternoon I am ventilator free!! YEAH!! It is so nice not having that big ole’ tube down my throat. It was starting to cramp my style!
I can finally show off my lips to everyone now. They certainly are beautiful! Oh… speaking of my lips…the nurse gave me this funny rubber-looking thing to put in my mouth and suck on. Boy, was that fun! The nurse called it something funny like a pacifier?
Although, I must say I was a little disappointed with that thing. I kept sucking and sucking but not one single drop of food or milk came from it. I am SO hungry!! The nurses keep giving me sugar, proteins and whatever they can through my IV, but hey, I am so over that! My stomach keeps talking to me saying, “growl, growl…growl growl”.
C’mon don’t the docs and nurses know I am made from Perdue/Kullen blood?? I was born to enjoy food! The good news is I overheard the nurses say that they will start putting a little milk in my feeding tube today. I have to start somewhere….
Now that everyone can see my great lips and facial expressions the big question seems to be – “Who does she look like?” Obviously, I can’t see myself right now, so I am out of that conversation. But I can see my mommy and daddy and I am one lucky girl to have such good- looking parents. The paparazzi were by to see me too. I guess I am getting mistaken for Natalie Portman. Whatever!!
Honestly, I am happy to be Tyler Cay Kullen – strong, beautiful and a week old.
