Tyler's New Digs

Sorry we haven't posted an update in a few days - it's been pretty hectic around here. Tyler's doctors decided to transport her to Children's Memorial Hospital yesterday afternoon. The doctors at Northwestern had been consulting with the cardiologists and other specialists at Children's regarding her heart arrhythmia and congenital chylothorax. They decided yesterday having Tyler in the same hospital as the doctors making most of the decisions about her care made more sense. Now the specialists at Children's are giving her hands-on care.

I was extremely apprehensive about moving her from the hospital and medical staff that we'd gotten to know and had comfort in, but the rationale for moving her made great sense. I have great confidence that we're in the best place for Tyler and that the two teams of doctors working on her here at Children's (cardiac and pediatric surgeons) are the best of the best.

So far today she's had an echocardiogram, e.k.g, and they're putting her on a hulter monitor (to monitor her heart activity). They are also planning on doing either an MRI or CT scan today to get a better look at her chest fluid and her heart. We're hopeful we'll have more definitive diagnoses and corresponding plans for treatment later today or tomorrow.

Thanks again for all for keeping Ty in your thoughts. We are so grateful to have such wonderful and caring friends and family!! Thanks to all of you!!

XoXoXo

Thank God she is getting the MRI or CT. Hopefully they will be able to see where this fluid is coming from.
You're in the best hands Tyler.
